At the European Industry & Energy Summit 2023 in Antwerp last week, participants from all over the industry came together to discuss ways to achieve zero emissions.

To reduce and even avoid CO2 emissions, many fired vessel operators are looking into converting to hydrogen firing since this fuel is becoming more and more available.

De Jong Combustion presented the implications of converting to hydrogen firing, including the required upgrades to the firing system: hardware and controls.

DJC has over 30 years of experience with hydrogen, either as a component or as up to 100% of the fired fuel.

An interesting way to completely avoid any NOx emissions is by firing the hydrogen with pure oxygen, which would be available as a by-product of electrolyzers.
